And yes, surgical masks do only protect others from you, but if everyone wears them, everyone is protected as intended yeah? Not fully protected as nothing is 100% safe.

Masks are not the answer because people aren’t using them correctly. It’s just the next goal post move.

Ok, let's be realistic here. Opening up the country is way overdue, but we are going to see a big uptick in infected people. Face coverings will help slow the transmission rate. I would rather not wear a mask for years at markets, so I'll do my part for now

Homemade face coverings are an option now as they were then. You can’t make mandatory now if they weren’t then.

So...the curve got flattened bc ppl stayed home for the most part and avoided large groups/ now that more ppl will be going out presumably, there will be more opportunities for the virus to spread (mainly bc the safer at home orders prevented herd immunity)
