Ah, now we see the point of this. Weird how politicians are going to such great lengths to get their hands on someone's tax returns.
MUH 18TH CENTURY LEGAL PRECEPTS!
Never heard that name before, who is this Eisen guy?

quote:
Attorneys general for the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland say they will sue President Donald Trump on Monday, alleging that he has violated anti-corruption clauses in the Constitution by accepting millions in payments and benefits from foreign governments since moving into the White House.
quote:
But D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine, D, and Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, D, say Trump has broken many promises to keep separate his public duties and private business interests. For one, his son Eric Trump has said the president would continue to receive regular updates about his company's financial health.
quote:
If a federal judge allows the case to proceed, Racine and Frosh say, one of the first steps would be to demand through the discovery process copies of Trump's personal tax returns to gauge the extent of his foreign business dealings. That fight would most likely end up before the Supreme Court, the two said, with Trump's attorneys having to defend why the returns should remain private.

"The emoluments clauses command that . . . the president put the country first and not his own personal interest first."
MUH 18TH CENTURY LEGAL PRECEPTS!
quote:
In the D.C. area, both the District and Maryland will cite ways they have been adversely affected by the opening of the Trump International Hotel last year near the White House.
quote:
"In the emoluments clauses, we have these ancient air bags that were placed in the Constitution by the framers that are now being deployed," said Eisen, who has been advising the District and Maryland on their suit. "Trump is the framers' worst-case scenario; a president who would seize office and attempt to exploit his position for personal financial gain with every governmental entity imaginable, across the United States or around the world."

CNN obviously didn't get that memo. This is their current headline.
Russia Cloud Settles In Over Trump's White House

I mean it's not like he was democratically elected or anything.

But of course you have been proclaiming the Russian investigation to be over for months, yet it continues. Trump couldn't even answer a question about Russia being a threat last Friday. What a coward!

Let them do it.
It's crazy to me that after they saw firsthand how their efforts failed last November they are doubling and tripling down on biased coverage.
It may hurt Trump's approval ratings superficially, but it only emboldens his support when elections truly come round.

Their historonics is on full display for all to see.
I hope they keep it up. It will only further destroy their brand.

Theyre too far entrenched in their bs. They arent going to believe you until the very end, then they will be anti-Trump to avoid their ego collapse. Same shite happened with GW.

I wasn't discrediting, just simply pointing out that I wasn't surprised an Obama admin official was advising on political lawsuits against Trump. But it does speak volumes that the mere mention of said official caused you to think of "discrediting" the story, maybe you subconsciously know it's complete BS...

Tax returns are in no way a legal obligation to hold office. Being born is the US is for the Presidency.
Nice.
Nice.

How can Trump be so problematic, but Hillary and the Clinton Foundation can accept billions in foreign donations?

Didn't George Washington and others have substantial agriculture businesses that were trading with foreign businesses during their presidency?
