So could Trump just say "Ok, well when the GOP wins again, we'll put 30 justices on the court and make the US Virgin Islands and Guam a state..."

DC should be relegated back to a Federal City, where We The People Control it.
There needs to be a permit to live in DC, and you can only live there/work there for a limited term unless you work in a private small business that has nothing to do with government

All this just because Democrats refuse to change their approach. They don't try to win over any of the flyover states.

That’s not a quote from the constitution, and even that quote does nothing to prevent DC from becoming a state

It’s literally in the constitution that DC can’t be a state. Good luck getting a constitutional amendment for that, Nancy/Chuck!
^ this and DC was the property of Virginia and Maryland. I have to believe that not only DC wouldn’t become its own state but if some how they got pass that little ole thing of the Constitution but those states would immediately have a power grab to get their territory back for the revenue alone . The Whites and pentagon then would be under control of the state of which it sits in . Not gonna happen until this country falls

You raise a good point here, which is that Maryland gets right of first refusal in the event that DC statehood becomes a real conversation
