Sessions should have never allowed himself to be appointed if he knew he was going to have to recuse himself in event of an investigation.

Let it be a warning to future presidents: don’t appoint someone who campaigned with you.

I don't give a frick what was said about Comey.

The people with power in the DOJ did and they launched a special counsel investigation on Trump's ass.

And it was completely preventable if Trump had been smart.

Dude, you're just a random private citizen. Nobody cares that you didn't give a frick about it.

Trump played a stupid game and got a stupid prize out of it. And his staff tried to stop him from doing it.

The same Rosenstein that seriously considered removing the president. The same dip shite that gave Mueller special powers to attack the president.

Yes.

And Trump played into his hands like a real idiot.

He sure did.

He just did it in the worst possible way he could've done it.

It would have been political suicide and the new ag wouldn’t have been able to do anything to stop the sc anyway for the same reason.

This was thoroughly hashed out at the time. No need for revisionist history so you can defend sessions.

Yeah and I even made the same case here at the time.

But the thing is Trump still knew this still tried to bully Sessions into resigning through tweet storms and he ended up firing him in private anyway in the end after the midterms.

What was the point of that?

Let's be honest here.

Did anyone on the GOP side of the aisle, especially those in Trump world see the investigation coming?

In February 2017, Sessions hasn't recused yet and the deep state already got a major scalp in forcing the President to fire his national security advisor and that was a cabinet level official mind you.

What game ? You mean the rigged witch hunt that was perpertated on him - Spying on him, Setting ups his NSA, Spying on his proxies, that fricking game? frick your stupid games. Trump was the fricking president. He can fire whoever the frick he wants however the frick he wants. Period

Is there a good way to fire some shite bag that is having meetings with you and lying to your fricking face and then leaking to the media that you have suspicious russian contacts and then lying to have your spied on. The game was rigged. It was always rigged. frick him - he got what was coming.

re: Not a fan of Sessions but....he ain’t wrong here
Don’t know if they did, but they probably should have.

Don’t know how the AG doesn’t immediately learn of an investigation on the POTUS upon assuming the role. He should have said whoops guys I’m out

If no one told him then he should have assumed malice and told them to eat shite instead of recuse himself

I’ve never understood why trump hated that Sessions recused himself....

because there was zero reason to. It’s total BS to think otherwise. The idea that it was required by law is insane and never would have happening if the other side was in this situation zero chance

It had nothing to do with the law and everything to do with Sessions being a coward when the full weight of the leftist media came down on him to recuse himself

Those tweets prevented any possibility of the GOP Senate confirming a new AG and they were already minuscule to begin with.

Those tweets were embarrassing given the damage was already done at that point.

Either fire him or STFU.

re: Not a fan of Sessions but....he ain’t wrong here
I sense big time that Sessions is a neverTrumper; he sounds just like a Rubio/Romney/Graham type here.

If Sessions didn't sell out Trump why didn't he speak up a long long time ago about how fake the Mueller investigation was. He gave RR a carte' blanche' green light, he knew what he was doing.

And I disagree with your OP. A President can indeed endorse. This Presidents endorsements/or not mean something. Too bad Sessions doesn't like that.

He was told to bow out. Then you had Republicans like Trey Gowdy, Mitch Mcconnell, Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio run on TV and talk about how we need to get to the bottom of what happened with Russian and what an honerable man Robert Mueller was. Meanwhile Mueller goes on to hire a full team of Anti-Trumpers that included Andrew Weisman, Peter Strozk, and Lisa Page and others who donated to democrats. You had GOPE and democrats lay a hoax on the nation over a dossier that was never based in FACT. Jeff Sessions with one decision essentially kneecapped 60 million votes. IM NOT GOING TO GLOSS OVER THAT. HE FAILED

Well duh.

Actually he did.

He should've never sat down for that interview. That interview was pure stupidity and political malpractice.

In a political race sure.

In a politically charged investigation like that and a fight between the bureaucracy and elected officials, your vote amounts to zero.

Trump was the fricking president. He can fire whoever the frick he wants

Trump made a good move firing Comey and it should've happened sooner.

However, Trump handled the firing about as poorly as he possibly could've done.

quote:

Is there a good way to fire some shite bag

There's a reason why when corporate offices fires employees, they do it as quietly and nicely as possible.

Trump demonstrated why.

They literally kept Sally Yates out of the loop. She was the acting Attorney general at the time and she found out from Obama about the investigation and Comey didn't tell her they were interviewing Flynn until it was literally happening at that point.

You really think Comey was going to tell Jeff Sessions after that or he would let anyone tell him?

Jeff Sessions is a little bitch in that tweet. It was not REQUIRED by law and no one is fortunate for what he did. He's a miserable little elf that should retire in his hole. He was given a chance to be AG and he decided to go on vacation. Alabama does indeed get to pick. They just picked Doug Jones. Thanks Jeff

This is a crock of shite and you know it. They will confirm who they pick-period. There was no chance in hell they were letting Trump pick Comey's replacement. The timing of firing Wray currently is not being advised or Turtle will probably vice grip peach mint with the dems again.

Do you not think the GOPe are not thrilled the economy is tanked so maybe they can get rid of Trump? Turtle could care less if he is in the minority.

That's what GOPE pussies do. Meanwhile democrats come in and day 1 they fire every body no fricks given. It's time to stop giving a shite what the media or anyone else things about the way Conservatives do the firing. Time to start playing by there rules. It's funny how republicans always pretend to take the moral high ground and democrats give zero fricks and you still wanna play in their game. It's stupid
