Forbes has an article that the Brits say it was a govt action. Also that NS 1 maybe permanently damaged due to corrosion.

It states that NS 1 had been shutdown in August. I was unaware of this. I thought only NS2 was idle.

No gas has ever flowed through NS-2, and NS-1 has been shut down for a month.

I knew NS2 was just holding gas because Germany never started flowing it because of invasion.
But what was the reason NS1 was shutdown? Was it a maintenance excuse by Russia?

NS1 had a leak at the station with the only remaining working compressor.

Here's a Link to a substack I read and in it are links to various other articles/pieces written by people with half a brain.

Bottom line until someone has some truly damning evidence, the US did this plain and simple.

It's a pipeline, how could it be "permanent" damage? They invented an irreparable pipeline?

Come on.

So Putin destroyed 1 to force Germany to open #2? Seems reasonable.

If it's not sealed for rust, a majority of the length of the pipe being compromised could render it "unrepairable".
