I guess they are still talking to players trying to find best route.

An update in our very important, very popular story from current partisan politics.

ETA: ESPN link.

Who would have thought that a shitty SF QB would lead to the demise of the NFL?

Because the NFL is only 28% white. There's your answer to why.

They are only "backing away" to figure out what level of punishment teams are allowed to hand out to anyone that protests.

This is such a non story.

It will be worked out by the time the season begins.

Agreed. The Dolphins' proposed punishment is too severe.

In less than two weeks? That's a bold prediction on your part.

The NFL spent millions building a brand, Goodell sat there and let that brand be soiled and didn't do anything. I'm surprised he kept his job.

Once they start getting paid, I really couldn't care less...

This is why I could never be an Auburn fan.

:rimshot:

Seriously, though, I wish former Dawgs all the best in the league, and I hope they go on to HOF careers, but I didn't watch a single game last year.

The folks that pay for it are a lot more white than that. Let the morons kill their golden gooses.

For the first time in my life I didn't watch a single NFL game last season. I don't plan on it this season either.

I'll wait for college ball.

Their insistence on protesting makes me never want to watch the NFL again.

This, more than the stupid rule changes, will be the eventual down fall of the popularity of the sport.

I like watching the Steelers play football. But it's no longer something I feel compelled to do as a fan.

Just don't care that much anymore.

It is generally a meritocracy.

You think a fad will effect the popularity of the sport moreso than fundamentally changing the sport?

I couldn’t tell you who won the Super Bowl if my life depended on it.
