U.S. rate of Infection per million persons
(with New York / New Jersey): 381.24
New York/New Jersey rate per million: 3673
U.S. rate per million (w/o New York / New Jersey): 194.18
Louisiana = 711 per million
Texas = 88.3 per million
Mississippi = 221 per million
Alabama = 152 per million
Arkansas = 136.3 per million
U.S. deaths per million = 6.8
New York/New Jersey deaths per million: 55.3
U.S. deaths per million (w/o New York/New Jersey) = 4.04
Texas = 1.18 death per million.
Louisiana = 29 deaths per million
Just thought we all needed a little perspective on why we should open up the country in a week or two. Except New York / New Jersey.
Maybe New Orleans, too, should stay closed for a month or more. The rest of us? I think we'll get by.

This is why the electoral college is so important so as not to have just two or three states skewing their politics on the whole country.

What about California and Washington?

NJ's population density is the highest in the country by like a mile. No surprise they're getting wrecked.

The flip side is to say the problem has yet to hit the rest of the country hard yet.

Pay attention folks.
This is how you make a subject into a political one that can be put on the PT.
Well done!

What is your definition of "hard"?

They are also screwing the country.

The way it has affected New York.

Aren't NY/NJ like Italy in some respects regarding families living together and zero social distancing?

That isn't going to happen imo.

quote:Long Island is like that so much. I had an engineer leave the company because his mother-in-law made his wife tell him to tell us to drop requiring him to leave and fly to places where we needed him, which was only 3-4 times a year. Most restaurants are locally owned. Very few chain restaurants. They just rarely, if ever, leave Long Island.
