New info on Fauci and Wuhan lab

I recently read Josh Rogin’s book on Trump/China/covid and it was pretty good.
But something he mentions that I haven’t seen previously reported... many knew Fauci was responsible for funding the Wuhan lab and the gain of function research...
However what Josh reported was, that while the intel agencies had shut the lab down due to safety precautions at the lab, under the Trump admin Fauci started funding the lab again without letting the Trump admin know.

Yeah. Obama stopped gain of function. Supposedly under Trump they set up a board to discuss and approve any of the funding and Fauci pulled an end around and funneled the money to Wuhan circumventing that process.

yeah, but not that he had been stopped, but restarted under Trump without telling him or the administration.

I suspect there was high level communications going on, but nothing at the behind the scenes arena.
It seems the good doc was finding ways to funnel $$ in thru the back door.
I would not doubt it one second. Have suspected he was a snake in the grass since at least this time last year. I second guessed every announcement he made - finally just quit listening to him.
I am surprised that Trump allowed him the freedom to do that.
