New Conyers accuser comes forward with sexual harassment claim

Deanna Maher, who worked for Conyers from 1997 to 2005, told the newspaper that Conyers made unwanted sexual passes on three occasions.
“I didn’t report the harassment because it was clear nobody wanted to take it seriously,” Maher said. “John Conyers is a powerful man in Washington, and nobody wanted to cross him.”
Maher said Conyers propositioned her to stay in his hotel room on one occasion and on two others touched her inappropriately.
A reporter from another Detroit newspaper confirmed to The Detroit News that Maher previously discussed Conyers’s alleged actions with him, but declined to go on the record.
A lawyer for the congressman, Arnold Reed, cast doubt on the new claims.
“At best, they are uncorroborated. At worst, they’re just not believable,” Reed told The Detroit News.

I feel the same way about Conyers accusers as I do about Moore's. Unless it's a serious charge like rape, I don't want to hear about 20-30 year old allegations.

I guess the word "flirt" should be eliminated from the dictionary. It's now sexual harassment. I'm just glad I'm too old to play the game anymore because I did considerable "flirting" back in the day. Never got slapped or arrested the first time. So, either men don't know how to safely flirt any longer or women have redefined the definition of what flirting is.

Look, I dislike Conyers like every rational voter, but these allegations are some softball shite. It’s not good that he propositioned a staffer, but this “harassment” lacks the badness of other allegations.
Did her refusal affect her employment, other than making it awkward?
What exactly was the “inappropriate touching”? Did he stroke her breast, or was it just a suggestive placement of the hand on the small of her back.
A “come on” is not criminal, even if it might be inappropriate given their relative professional positions. If he was handsome, the person wouldnt be complaining.
The accusers better come with more details, or stfu.
