Of course the libs here in FL are in an uproar over this. Hopefully this bill will get passed.

quote:

A pair of controversial bills introduced in the Florida Legislature aim to ban women from attaining an abortion when a fetus' heartbeat is detected.

quote:

The "heartbeat bill," as it is commonly known, seeks to ban abortions at the time when a fetus' heartbeat can be detected with a vaginal ultrasound. That can be as early as 5 1/2 to 6 weeks after gestation, before many women even know they are pregnant. Violating the proposed ban would be a third-degree felony. As it is written, the proposed legislation makes no exceptions for survivors of rape or incest.

quote:

"Being a constitutionalist, I believe that we have a very good chance of it passing a court challenge up to the Florida Supreme Court," said Rep. Mike Hill, R-Pensacola, sponsor of the House bill.

It will have 34/40 weeks covered. Good step in the right direction.

When my local news talked about it this morning (I live in North FL) and they showed the outrage from the left and their comments on why this shouldn't pass, I laughed at their stupidity. But it also disturbing that so many libs are ok with murdering innocent babies. SMH

Indeed it should, but that most likely will never happen. I am happy to be getting this at least.

Considering they start timing a pregnancy from the start of the last cycle and conception typically during week 2 and then the pregnancy isn't typically detected until week 4-5, this is basically banning any abortion in Florida.

The law is based on the viability of a fetus.

So you would ban abortion until after a woman knows she's pregnant. You get to make that decision for her. By what authority?

Why would a woman have an abortion if she doesn't even know she's pregnant?

Rape is a dark road when it comes to abortions. If a girl is raped..I get if. A reminder of that daily is quite awful. The problem is. You claim you can have an abortion past this date because of rape. False rape claims will become the go to out for whores.

This bill tells a woman that is is legal to have an abortion, at any point before she is even likely to realize that she is pregnant. It is much like telling a homosexual that it is legal to get married, so long as the marriage is to someone of the opposite sex.
