America is Inherently Good vs. America is Inherently Bad.....

After today, is there still anybody who doesn't think this is so?

Unfortunately, America being "bad" is tied directly to America "owing" me something. It's actually a brilliant strategy on their part. Buying votes is the only hope of a party so bereft of intellectual honesty, and they've gone all in on it.

Democrats have officially branded themselves as the Anti American party. Bold strategy.

I can't even imagine being that disaffected, dysfunctional, deluded, deranged, or diabolical.

PS - I had more "d" words. I swear I did.

What if America is pretty good but has some serious stuff to work on?

I’ve been enjoying my day with folks of all kinds of political persuasions.

Seems you are in the America is good camp yet feel pretty darn strongly about a huge percentage of the people

The formation of United States has been the most beneficial entity in the history of humanity.

The inventions it has created, the wars it has turned the right way and the beacon it has been for more than two centuries is only questioned by imbeciles on Twitter.

I’m not sure when we decided that our country and our way of life was to be dictated by lunatics on Twitter

I think that certainly is the message. 2020 is a crossroads moment far greater than even slaying the Hilldawg. It's to determine the fate of the country. Do we take an abrupt turn towards open borders, socialism, gender neutrality, and atheism or do we stand strong as a nation of morality, values, religion. America has always had to be a leader for freedom. Normally we fight to free the oppressed in other lands, sometimes we must do the same on our own.

I usually am pretty quiet when it comes to politics in my day-to-day, but I am finding that possibility is not feasible. As we are further inundated from all sides of indoctrination, I feel we all should find it our duty to shepherd the misguided regardless of perils of persecution of thought or opinion. Love thy neighbor. If we really do love then we must go out in the world and battle for the minds of our brothers and sisters.

What's the point of ridicule in a message board of the like minded, though it is fun. We should instead focus on being that small light in our corner of the world that can affect such a small change in someone's life; that we can be an accurate portrait in the minds of our peers of what it means to be God fearing, country loving, constitution protecting citizens. That way when they are told that to love this country and the military is to be a Nazi or if to love Trump that you're a racist, it's important for them to have a foil for these attacks. I encourage you all to go out, be brave, be vocal, be respectful, and be the foil in someone's life. It's time we get off the sidelines and be shepherds to the flock in our own small way.

What if America is amazing and the people that bitch about it have some stuff they need to work on?

Most want socialism...fact. Socialism is inherently anti American and should be repudiated and ridiculed at every turn.

If you can’t make it in America, where are you going to make it?

Kudos to one of the most accurate posts I've read on this board or any other.

Unfortunately the public school system that allowed this state of matters to come about is still hard at work.

Of course America has some stuff to work on.

But let me ask you this. Did you watch the Democrat candidate debates last week? If so, do you really think that anybody on stage is wanting to make America better? Did you actually believe that their race-baiting, gender-baiting, gay-baiting brand of identity politics is going to make America a better place?

Just curious.

2016 was the referendum, both sides have just doubled down since (the democrats inexplicably so, given the side on the losing end of a referendum generally tries to reform).

This. That's the weird part to me. Usually the party not in power goes all in to re-brand, but Dems have just turned the Trump hate up to 11, like people didn't get that message the first go-round

Not a big fan of any of them.

Don’t think 4 years of any of them means we erase all borders and become a socialist nation either though. Just like trump didn’t open concentration camps and isn’t literally hitler.

I tend to land right of center on a lot of issues and think we do a ton right. I do think we have complex issues on our plates that I won’t write a message board thesis on but...

I support a border plan but am not doing back flips for a massive wall. Pro 1st, and think hate speech (and crimes) are absurd. Pro 2nd as long as mild background checks and guidelines are in place. Think we have too much individual welfare and too much corporate too. Support the justice system but think large scale reform is needed and its become one of the worst examples of big government run amok. Drug laws, sentencing, condition of prisons/inability to foster rehabilitation, civil asset forfeiture, public defenders, huge bail pre-trial etc... are black eyes. Health care needs some plan but I won’t pretend to be the guy that has a silver bullet. Simply a space I don’t know well enough to be an advocate. And yea, I think we simply need to be kinder to each other. Outdoing the other side in treating the opponent poorly isn’t really doing it for me. think it’s silly small government freedom lovers are so often worried about gender and sexuality.

Maybe that makes me some bleeding heart liberal around here- I tend to vote red barring a candidate being overtly harsh and pandering, but do a lot of volunteer work in blue communities without being repulsed.
