They got him now!!!

quote:

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump required personnel at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to sign nondisclosure agreements last year before they could be involved with treating him, according to four people familiar with the process.

During a surprise trip to Walter Reed on Nov. 16, 2019, Trump mandated signed NDAs from both physicians and nonmedical staff, most of whom are active-duty military service members, these people said. At least two doctors at Walter Reed who refused to sign the NDAs were subsequently not permitted to have any involvement in the president's care, two of the people said.

quote:

Anyone providing medical services to the president — or any other American — is automatically prohibited by federal law from disclosing the patient's personal health information without consent. The existing legal protection for all patients under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA, raises the question of why Trump would insist that staff members at Walter Reed sign NDAs.

Yet the media is saying Trump is hiding info from the American people and misleading them.

And? In the normal world this would be completely unnecessary, because it would be unheard of for your doctor to give out your personal medical information to the press.

We don't live in this world, obviously.

When have silly things like laws stopped the left and their cohorts from releasing sensitive information?

Until they disclose PHI under the guise of “what’s best for the country” and they get a liberal judge to agree.

Ya, I assume what the NDA provides is a private right of action that a patient doesn't have under HIPAA.

So he made them sign NDAs on top of HIPAA and you think he isn’t hiding anything?

He’s a 74-year-old man with the worst eating habits I’ve ever heard of. There is a 0% chance he’s as healthy as he claims, but at the same time he’s probably not knocking on heavens door.

Unless the NDA spells out the penalties if they violate HIPAA and the NDA.

I think he might want protection against some nurse or med assistant eavesdropping on him while he talks to his staff and leaking details of those conversations to the press. HIPAA wouldn't apply to a lefty nurse who overheard some campaign strategy details (as an example) running her mouth to some twat she knows at HuffPo.

Correct

Under HIPPA, release is a crime, but since the left never seems to get prosecuted for their crimes a NDA gives more protection.

Because then Trump could sue them as private citizens.

becasue if one of his doctors is a nutjob lefty they might release his personal information to the public anyway without his consent, with pretty good assurance that even if they are caught they will catch a deep state official who will decline to prosecute them criminally. Whereas civil breach of an NDA with specified penalties agreed to by the doctors is much easier and sure to enforce and a better deterrent. plus trump is probably pretty familiar and comfortable with NDAs, and would be anyone who makes large business deals

So why have an issue with signing the NDA? You are making no new agreements.
