Sound data from the CDC has been especially lacking on natural immunity from prior Covid infection. On Aug. 25, Israel published the most powerful and scientifically rigorous study on the subject to date. In a sample of more than 700,000 people, natural immunity was 27 times more effective than vaccinated immunity in preventing symptomatic infections.

Despite this evidence, U.S. public health officials continue to dismiss natural immunity, insisting that those who have recovered from Covid must still get the vaccine. Policy makers and public health leaders, and the media voices that parrot them, are inexplicably sticking to their original hypothesis that natural immunity is fleeting, even as at least 15 studies show it lasts.

Dr Makary believes in natural immunity.
Dr Malarky (Fauci)? Less so.

But natural immunity cuts into vaccine sales. Can't have that.

The so-called party of science again refuses to follow science. Democrats are so fricking dishonest.

If word got out that natural immunity was 27 times more effective than the vaccine then no one would want the vaccine outside of those who are vulnerable. People would demand to be allowed to live their lives as close to normal as possible.

Makes me all the more adamant that I won't get vaccinated. If I don't need it, why am I being forced to take it with threats of losing my livelihood?

And, some would plan their own deliberate infections around their schedules. I know I would if I didn't think I already got the communist and Fauci's virus.

That's a stretch. It would likely make acquiring natural immunity once you do encounter the virus a much easier proposition.

People should be doing that anyway right now.

Same here, I had to get it for work travel but natural immunity appears to be the better route.

Remember when the medical peeps of the OT avoided this topic no matter how many times I brought it up? Remember my threads about it being anchored?

Nothing about COVID or our gov'ts response to it has made sense. Nothing.

How do we know the number of people in the U.S. or even the world that have natural immunity?
The simple answer is that we don't, and that's why the numbers are so misleading on the alleged "immunity", or people carry the antigen to combat the virus.

Did anyone try to google news for 27X and Israeli study? The results were rather paltry, although this article actually from Israel was the top result:
LINK
I seem to remember breathless reporting on Israeli results in past months whenever it supported the narrative. Now, not so much.
In fairness, it should be pointed out that the new study hasn't been peer-reviewed yet.
Even if the vaccines were slightly better than infected immunity (which they don't appear to be), it's still bizarre how dismissive the narrative has been of even considering natural immunity. It reminds me of last summer when they would breathlessly report on "new cases" as bad news - even as deaths weren't increasing. It was so obviously good news.

Not bizarre. It's telling. They have a desired narrative and only report that which supports it.

Meanwhile, employers fire workers with natural immunity who won’t get vaccinated. Schools disenroll students who won’t comply.
The CDC did put out a study on natural immunity last month, forcefully concluding that vaccinated immunity was 2.3 times better than natural immunity. The CDC used these results to justify telling those with natural immunity to get vaccinated.
But the rate of infection in each group was less than 0.01%, meaning infections were exceedingly rare in the short two-month time period the agency chose to study. This is odd, given there are more than a year of data available. Moreover, despite having data on all 50 states, the CDC only reported data from Kentucky. Was Kentucky the only state that produced the desired result? Why else exclude the same data from the other 49 states?
Some public health officials are afraid to acknowledge natural immunity because they fear some will choose infection over vaccination. But leaders can encourage all Americans who aren’t immune to get vaccinated and be transparent with the data at the same time.
The CDC shouldn’t fish for data to support outdated hypotheses. Heeding the robust Israeli data on natural immunity could help restore the agency’s credibility and even help vaccination efforts.
Israel also contributed a brilliant study on vaccinating children. Researchers found that one dose of the Pfizer vaccine, instead of the normal two, was 100% effective in children ages 12 to 15. Such a finding could have significant implications for achieving broad immunity in adolescents while reducing the risk of heart complications, which have been clustered around the second dose.
These are the studies U.S. public health agencies should be doing but aren’t. By any metric, the CDC has failed in its primary task of preparing the country for a pandemic and telling us how to reduce harm from the novel Covid pathogen.

Before 2021, informed consent and medical necessity were important considerations.

Here are a couple of links for you to answer your question.
here is the CDC link showing the number of total covid infections at 5/31/2021 was 120,259,370.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/burden.html
Here is a study from Columbia that estimates that 33% of the US population had covid in 2020
https://www.publichealth.columbia.edu/public-health-now/news/one-three-americans-already-had-covid-19-end-2020
US is down to 13 million (4% of the US population) that are unvaxxed and have not previously been infected with covid-19 over the age of 12. The CDC considers anyone with just one dose as an unvaxinated individual. There are 28 million that have only received one dose.
44.6% of the US population has been infected with covid or 146 million. Estimated that 70.8 million (48.3%) of these have been fully vaccinated.
Estimated that there are 45.7 million over 17 years old have built in natural immunity and an additional 29.9 million under the age of 18 have built in natural immunity.
Look at the numbers and draw your own conclusions. Who is spreading covid to the population? I'm going with the asymptomatic vaccinated (vaccinated for 6+ months) are the super spreaders these days and they are spreading it to their children.
Here is a breakdown by age.
Here is the fully vaxxed broken down by age
Here is the fully vaxxed chart over time.
