Stars and Stripes:

quote:

Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller said Wednesday that he agreed to activate D.C.’s entire Guard force after he and Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, had separately spoken with Vice President Mike Pence, Mitch McConnell, and Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. Those top U.S. officials were all at the Capitol when the mob ascended on the building.

Stars and Stripes

As for Gen Milley, he was touted in a recent Army Times article as the guy that needs to stand up to the bully in chief.

quote:

I worry for the country, but I believe General Milley is the right person for the job. A flawed general who learned a lesson. He will need to display the intestinal fortitude required to pass the Q Course when standing up to the bully in chief. Milley will be asked to participate in a future unlawful act. He will have to exhibit the courage of a combat vet fighting to free the oppressed. Trump has no regard for the rule of law. It will be up to military leadership to be the backstop of our democracy. America will continue to struggle with Trump, race, religion, voting rights, guns and other social issues. Our military leaders must be accountable to the oath they swore to protect the Constitution. They must fight for the rights of the American people by speaking truth to power allowing freedom to prevail. De Oppresso Liber!

This article should be read to be believed. This rag is what gets sent out to active duty and reserve persons in the military. I had no clue this type of thing was acceptable to our military folks.

Milley: A flawed general who learned a lesson

Running across these articles was a result of trying to understand who, what and why is responsible for the deployment. 20k Guard are being called up. I'll venture a conservative guess that it takes an average of $1000 per human to move them and gear from 40 states. That is a minimum 20 million dollar bill....and its probably much higher.

So, why are they telling us to stay away from a virtual inauguration? Why is airbnb cancelling all reservations, Delta not allowing transport of legal firearms on flights, etc? W in the actual F are 20K+ guardsmen going to be doing? Why don't they send these guys out to give covid shots or something...

Anyone?

Is this a satire?

Americans are struggling with lockdown fatigue, trying to raise children while sports / clubs are not what they used to be, school at home, living in fear of violent mobs (and unlike Congress have no S.S. protection), and NO JOBS NO JOBS NO JOBS.. SMALL BUSINESSES STRUGGLING

This guy is either joking or totally clueless.

Hitler had thousands of body guards and needed all of them. Churchill had about 3 and went everywhere in public.

Guess the dimcreeps need a lot too!
