I was hoping that the next gen car in 2021 or whenever, which is supposed to look more like production models, would help some. But SJW moves like this and the banning of Confederate flags many years ago, and the sanitizing of the drivers is going to keep the die hard fan away.

Man I used to enjoy NASCAR wouldn't miss seeing a race on TV and went to Bristol for years. You couldn't pay me to go to a race today too much bullshite! Back in the day there were no segments, or none of this chase crap. When Dale Earnhardt died, and Rusty Wallace retired I cut way back. I bet I haven't watched 15 laps in the past 5 years and couldn't care less.

For me, the switch from RJ Reynolds to Nextel as the Cup Sponsor in '04 was when it started to go downhill. They started pushing for drivers with squeaky clean, "sponsor-friendly" images and over-complicating the points system, abandoning their core fan base in the process. I used to watch every race religiously, but I haven't seen one in probably 10 years.
