Ideally I'd like a SecDef with military experience. One who doesn't want to play permanent war and has the balls to reverse the social experiment the military has become. I thought Mattis was that person and I was badly wrong.

I'm a Marine and have probably been the most critical of him and his hyped up career. There are much better people out there. How about Flynn? Seems like he was doing a great job fixing the military. That's if he'd want it.

I was never in the "Mattis is the Warrior God" camp, but I did think having a career military person for SecDef would make a difference. He was a complete bust IMO.

People forget that Sessions was the leading candidate as SECDEF. Would have been a better fit than Mattis.
