he doesn't recuse himself from overseeing Mueller probe (like they forced Session to do).

Question: Can Whittaker just refuse via ignoring this subpoena the way Rosenstein has?
Question: Can the house still force Rosenstein to show up before the 2019 transition?
Question: Where are the calls for Rosenstein to recuse from overseeing Mueller given that he threatened to "secretly record Trump"--whether it was a joke or not?

Will Whittaker get the special treatment (no committee interview-meeting with 4 congressmen instead)?

A summons isn't actually a threat. It just means that he will have to appear and answer questions under oath. That doesn't always produce a negative result.

Rosenstein told them to piss off, I'd imagine Whitaker would do the same.

I think that's what Nadler was saying: a summons first and then a subpoena if needed. But my question is, what's to stop Whittaker from ignoring that subpoena? Rosenstein effectively ignored his & nothing has happened to him. He also threatened to secretly record Trump & whether it was a joke or not, nothing has happened to him.

The House needs the DOJ to go to court to get the court enforce a subpoena or a Contempt of Congress. Remember when Eric Holder was held in contempt of congress and nothing happened? The DOJ refused to to go to court to get the court to punish Eric Holder. So nothing happened. Same thing here.

Im positive there are some skeletons in that fat fricks past.

Whittaker should dump them out for everyone to see. Then just say "Who's next?"

I do not because I wasn't as "in" to politics then.

Well damn, that's kinda screwed. No oversight. Not that I think dems will use their power fairly but there should be consequences it seems. What if the WH ignores the subpoenas? Same thing?

Yeah, don't think this is going to happen.

If Holder could be held in contempt and not brought to the capitol in chains for a gun running operation that left federal agents dead, this shite won't fly.

Yes, because the ONLY legal repercussions can be dealt out by the Justice Department. This is how Holder showed up, lied to Congress, admitted he lied to Congress and walked away without a scratch. He was in charge of prosecuting the crime, and he wasn't going to do that so.........

No, they never could. Again, failure to comply with a subpoena is a legal matter and if the Justice Department declines to prosecute Congress can't do shite.

Come on, you already knew the answer to that.

There is, of course, one caveat here. Congress COULD impeach Whitaker even though he's only a temporary AG, but that would require the House to impeach him and the Senate to convict him before he would be removed from office, that's just not going to happen.
