Didn't go to public school (other than A&M).
I've just realized that the eventual end of democracy is very likely to be socialism or communism, and steps have to be taken to slow the progression.

If a democratic society votes to become socialist, and that same society's leaders make it so that does not happen, then the society was never democratic to begin with. See how that works? You are just replacing the idea of a democratic republic with that of an oligarchy. THAT ISN'T FREEDOM YOU FRICKING IDIOT!

Of course not. Why is pure democracy the preferred form of government? The mob is a bunch of idiots. Democracy's best attribute is the political safety valve provided by voting. By the way, I didn't say being a socialist or electing a socialist would be illegal. Simply the promotion of those ideas (speech).
In a democracy, since property owners will always be outnumbered by non-property owners, the only thing which stops the property owners from being dispossessed is education of the non-property owners. The only alternative is to limit elections to property owners only.
