Was it because Florida as a lot of retirees?

LINK

Also Flo Rida was 18th per capita.

Florida was the 5th oldest in median age in 2021 at 42.7. LINK

Not really government's job to stop a cold virus pandemic anyway.

DeSantis did do a good job.

In my opinion, that map has more to do with non-obese white people. Almost all of the states that had a high death rate have a lot of minorities and a whole bunch of fatties.

Florida also has he largest percentage of population over 65 years of age (19.4%). Just ahead of Arizona. Just a lot of young people to balance out the population demographics.

Then you already know that Florida was 18th (if you don't control for how many old people live there) and that the raw numbers (at least the first 4-5) are simply a function of the population of the states.

Trump used to agree:

quote:

During Tuesday's White House press briefing, President Trump said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is "a great governor" who "knows exactly what he's doing" in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

It's because FL is (1) the 3rd largest state and (2) FL was the reservoir for fleeing New Yorkers.

I love how the Trump posters sound exactly like the mainstream media when criticizing DeSantis.

Florida is known as “God’s waiting room” for a reason.

Not to mention they were counting all deaths as “Covid deaths”.

I have my preference between the two but watching people on this board resort to liberal tactics to tear down the other is so lame
