My Neighbors are good people outside of Politics

Good people, but man I just can’t hang around any neighborhood functions very long. Even in the fact that they know I’m pro Trump/ Republican and they are Libs/Democrats. I’m being 100% honest when I tell you I don’t bring up politics at all, but man when they make those little smart remark Jabs... I just have to walk away and say frick this event. Just like today... hanging out at a neighborhood function, my kids are having fun, everyone’s getting along. Someone brought koolaid, out of nowhere my neighbor goes to the people that brought it “ Oh are you drinking koolaid like 51% of the country is?” My smart mouth replied right back instantly “ No they only woke up like the 51% of people did”......... then I told my kids it was time to go. These frickin people man, I just don’t get it!

Why would you even go and hang out with people like that in the first place? Life's too short. I would have gone out of my way to have not gone to those things when I lived in a neighborhood.

Just trying to be civil, not all of them are like that. Only a certain few are. Most neighbors around me are Pro Trump/ Republican. They had a Fall party today and had tons of kids that my kids know, food and bounce houses. I mean I pay my yearly HOA dues and that’s what paid for all that so might as well check it out and see what my money is goin to.

Just pull him aside next time he makes a snide comment and calmly tell him, "Listen, you know I don't talk politics at these family functions, but you continually make these snide remarks, so next time you do it, I'm gonna make you swallow some of your teeth. Understand?"

Where are you? The very last (6 years ago) neighborhood party I went to there was a male couple with a new infant they'd adopted. I couldn't stand them being fawned over for "being so brave". So I just didn't say anything, either positive or negative. I just stood there and ignored them, yet, overheard was one of the neighbors saying, "Don't mind him, he voted for Romney." So, frick 'em if they expect everyone to be accepting of that.

Oh already did that, I had my talk with him. Hell his wife is even worse...... especially that whole Kavanaugh deal. Some people on here will understand and some won’t. I’m trying to be civil and it’s becoming very difficult. Needless to say, that’s the last one I go to and I’m not the only one it bothers.

Agree with a previous poster that life’s too short to deal with that and I can’t imagine being in a neighborhood that was majority Dem..hang in there
