My High School Students

Just an observation made from a decent sample size over the last 20 years, albeit all in parishes around the acadiana area.
In 20 years of teaching Civics, the political identity of my students broke down roughly as follows:
Regular "on level" classes: 60% Democrat & 40% Republican
Honors classes: 80% Republican & 20% Democrat
Interpret it how you will.
And if you happen to be on the bubble and not sure which party you support, come job shadow me for a week. See these uneducated and unmotivated kids that will be unemployable in a few years and dependent upon the government. And then if you really want to throw up, realize that in about 3 years each one of their votes will count the same as yours does despite the fact they have virtually ZERO understanding of the Constitution or basic economics.
** Update: To the handful of downvoters, get your head out of the sand - you're part of the problem.

I taught Civivs in EBR, I’m an administrator now, so my numbers were never approaching 50%, but I could sway them on just about every single issue. My cousin(Dem) said “your less intelligent base” the other day, and responded “my less intelligent base who makes more $ on avg, has a higher HS graduation rate, has a lower single parent rate, has a higher employment rate, has a lower crime rate, has a lower mental health issue rate........

The left loves to market themselves as the party of intelligence and we are all just frothing red necks when in reality theyre all retarded.

Which base are you referring to? It is a known fact from the 2016 election results that Trump predominantly won whites without collegiate education, particularly males.
It doesn't matter to me, I dont judge people. But I think you're being dishonest.

The dude said nothing about college graduates in his post.
Your stupid arse just proved his point. Learn to read, dumbass!!

If any of y'all are 35+, I want you to think back and remember the laziest and most worthless no-future kid from your high school days - I have entire classes of that guy. They don't care and have no worries, because they know the government will take care of them.

This is probably the most irritating trait the DEMOCRATs shove in our faces every day - their only "intellectual" capacity seems to be creating new niches that can manufacture new emotional factors to act outraged about.
Meanwhile the world just keeps on chugging along in a way they have no capacity for understanding.
There are seeds of intelligence there - but their absolute lack of moral principles dooms them to apply it in evil ways.

Here are a couple of headlines from exit polls....
quote:
White and wealthy voters gave victory to Donald Trump, exit polls show
Most white voters of both sexes and almost all ages and education levels backed the Republican
I think you just proved a previous poster, most msm watchers/libs believe the white/uneducated/redneck storyline, but stats are a terrible thing to have to face sometimes.....

I truly believe that in order to be a liberal (especially a "book smart" liberal) you have to completely lack the gene that gives us plain f*cking common sense. They also have no basic understanding of human nature.

Which proves they are still intelligent because they voted for the anti socialism candidate.

True dat - they are good at creating ridiculous 'studies' that they can all smugly become 'educated' within. They remind me of the 'elites' who fawn over paint splotches on canvas they call "modern art" = smug in their self-satisfaction about being able to "see" whatever shite they want to see therein.

They also have no basic understanding of human nature.
They have zero moral underpinnings - the thing that has been nurtured and developed over the past 50000 years to establish norms of behavior that allow the race to advance in peace and freedom.
They do, however, have great understanding of greed, envy, and malice and how to exploit those defects for their nefarious purpose.
I absolutely hate them (politically) to the core. .

Have there been any analyses about college degrees in real higher education subjects? like STEM and medicine?
I would suggest that a degree in some sort of 'women's studies' is a sign of stupidity on the face of it. A large portion of modern education is merely a propaganda exercise, where gullible young minds are lured into an intelligence-killing swamp of cultured misery.

My on level classes lean roughly 60/40 conservative.
My honors classes I would put at 90/10.
West St. Tammany is pretty darned conservative imo, so keep that in mind.
FWIW, we have a large suburban demographic as well as a large rural demographic in my school. Those groups, regardless of background, generally have a good work ethic. The remaining groups...not so much. They may fit your future/current government dependent groups. That group is roughly 20% of the student population...and growing.
ETA - we are talking over two decades in terms of time frame as well.

Wait until those honors class kids hit the left wing indoctrination that is our university system.
