zero symptoms...(tested because her Cheer team had 7 cases)

day 8

what are we to do?

have her take another test?

didn't Nick Saban test positive, then went back for another test? he coached last weekend.

this whole thing is nuts

this is like a movie

I hate that they just test asymptomatic people.

Leave it be.

It does nothing to kids.

The flu is 3x deadlier for children.

According to the dems, arrange for last rights.

Honestly, I would do nothing but keep her away from old and vulnerable people for a while. Nothing more.

It’s probably good that they know their daughter had the virus. They can watch her closely and keep her away from grandma and grandpa.

Just curious -- did you choose to test her or was it required?

And are the others sick or were they "just positive" as well? If they're not "sick" why did THEY get tested?

Probably quarantine for 10 days and retest. The longer she waits until the 10th day the lower the chance of a false negative.

My son was exposed to an infected person. He initially teste negative. Quarantined for 7 days. Retested and came back negative again.

Quarantining didn't bother him as long as he had x-box, the internet and was able to exercise solo at home outside and this was in between semesters.

Same here. A girl a bunch of my daughters cheer team were hanging out with at a party tested positive. All the other parents were freaking out and wanted to get their kids tested too. I told them to shut up and only get tested if symptomatic or people in house who are high risk.

That was a month ago and guess what, no one got sick or anyone in their households. Testing asymptomatic people just pushes the numbers up due to false positives.

Unless the data has changed, children do not transmit it well.

They aren’t good vectors.

Saban had a false positive. He tested positive on the quick test, but then had three negatives in a row on the more "thorough" test.

As for your daughter, I'm not sure what your school district's policy is. Here in Alabama, your daughter could go back to school 10 days from the positive test, as long as she is not experiencing any of the major symptoms.

Or local school policy is if a student sits 2 chairs front, back, left, or right from an infected person whether they symptoms or not, negative or positive test doesn't matter 14 days of quarantine.

You should be saying, "No it's a false positive because she wears a mask like you required her to do so there's no way she's positive."

She should absolutely amplify the stupidity of the whole thing.

He tested positive on Wed. then negative on Thurs, Friday and Sat. morning and was on the field coaching later that day. No quarantine for him. It's a shame we are all not as important as he is.

That's because those are the rules in place put forth by the SEC.

The general rule for schools in LA is the person has to quarantine for xx days from the known contact/positive test, even if they test negative after and/or never had symptoms.
