Fallen behind how? Versus other countries is a bit of a misnomer, look at who is being tested. If you look at our top 10% vs theirs we still lead. The same can be said of all the percentiles. They just quit testing lower kids.
even if it was our top 10% vs theirs, i'm pretty confident Asian countries would still kick our arse. their work ethic is just better and they don't have as much to distract them

How do you envision a school district being able to enforce that rule, if the District is precluded from inflicting any punishment for violations?
See, this is where skills like critical thinking would come into play?
Is a child holding a mask away from his face while speaking so he can be understood the same as a child leaving his mask on his desk and coughing in others' faces?
Is a child hurling an eraser at another child the same as one trying to juggle erasers and losing control of one?
Those who are inclined to actually think would be able to distinguish acts that need to be addressed and/or punished from those that merely need a simple reminder.

Critical thinking is not a public school teacher's job. They only follow rules. So sayeth the teachers who can't think critically on this board.
And, the same reason that high school graduates can't name the three branches of government.

No, shite bag, I don’t expect someone with zero self awareness to admit that.
quote:Do you think I expected to get a bunch of "LOL" responses to that post from this group?
Do you think people here find you funny?
Don't "forget" to respond to the first question, above.

I guess you live in one of the white supremacist neighborhoods.
I don't. I live, admittedly, in a nice area within a not nice area, and the schools here are mostly below par.

Well teachers have to wear the damn thing too! So toughen up candy arse!

It means people with zero self awareness don’t realize it. That’s kind of the whole point.
What’s wrong with you?

TR, RG is telling you that it is pointless for YOU to make jokes here, because this crowd would not laugh and would instead downvote you if you were the reincarnation of George Carlin.

Naw. Funny is funny.
Even a shite bag can be funny.
Happens all the time. Just not here very often.

And is this a public school? If it is, not-so-politely remind the 'teacher' that your taxes are paying for her/his salary. And consider moving your kid to a private school or homeschool.
If it's a private school, remind the teacher who's paying her/his salary. And give your kid an extra hug or two. Bastards
Yeah, you're that parent huh. Well sweetie if you don't like it I happily encourage you to change schools. I'll even get you the paperwork. If your too stupid to understand how to properly wear a mask I don't really want your kid in my class anyway.
As far as paying my salary I'm not sure I could keep a straight face. Strictly looking at property taxes within the district I'm in the top 20% of payers. If looking at total including on the family farms it jumps from there.
Honestly looking at where the pure crap schools are located and it is almost without fail in larger urban areas, primarily inner cities. The failings in that area go way beyond just the schools. They are a symptom not a root cause.

I hope it's not English you're teaching...
Sorry, I couldn't pass that up.

You are a little extra thick today.
I said I considered whether to post it or not. That does not exhibit zero self awareness.
That's why I asked you: "What does that even mean especially in response to what I posted?"
But, that flew over your head, as usual.

First of all you sound like a Karen. Second of all, you left out a lot of information about how the child was wearing it, how many times they were asked to wear it correctly, how old the child was, and it's almost April so chances are the student chose not to wear it correctly.
Are you complaining about your child getting in trouble? Or the fact that current public health recommendations are that children should wear masks? Because that is a different debate. But I can promise you the teacher didn't create that rule. Do the rest of us a favor and teach your child the lesson of "sometimes life isn't fair." It will go much further than everytime they get in trouble their parent will come and bail them out.

the child has No medical conditions to claim exemption?

Of you had any self awareness you would not have attempted humor even after considering it.
Again, what’s wrong with you.

Tell him wear it properly. It is school, there are many rules. Are they all needed, probably not. But, this might allow the school to stay in person longer.
Quit being one of those parents who defends their kids behavior all the time.
the op and nearly all the respondents all feel that masks are a bad idea.
or dont work.
or its part of the plot to control us. i think thats legit.
