Is he left it up to the states to create individual plans to re-open while giving some half-assed “guidance.”

He should have blown the whole fricker open himself. Any state that disobeyed would have been referred by the DOJ

Zero authority for the federal government to do that. You seem uneducated on federalism and the Constitution

On CNN Trump will get the blame no matter what but in the individual states it is the governors facing backlash.

While painful to watch in real time it could end up being beneficial in November.

People in X state see their neighboring states opening up and realize the reason they are not is because of who is in the governor's mansion.

Do you really want the potus to have the power to open or close a state as they see fit?

Trillions in spending way worse than recognizing (reluctantly) states rights.

He's done exactly what he should have done. Each state is different with different requirements and different challenges. A major problem with this country is that the federal government steps in when the states should be doing things themselves.

Letting the governors make the call is brilliant.

Let those Democrat governors keep their states bottled up in spite of Trump, pissing off their citizens a few months before the election.

Then everyone would be bitching about States Rights. Which I agree with. Let the Governors make those calls for their states.

Besides it’ll show how much overreach those lefty Govs really want to flex.

Forgetting what you know today vs. when this began, who should he have listened to?

I keep seeing a problem with hindsight bias. So many use the information we know today and project it back to when the crisis first began to judge those actions without remembering that they didn't know then what we know now.

Trump has surprisingly been one of the biggest proponents of small "f" federalism in the White House for some time.
