As of today, the S&P index is up roughly 28% since the election (not counting dividends). I think you’ll be fine.

Bottoms in for the year, China trade news(good) out this week. 18% return on the year, from here IMO.

Yeah, by a quarter of a percentage point at a time, starting from the very bottom. At that point an increase by that amount meant pretty much nothing to the stock or bond market.

It’s a shame that frickers like you are happy when things like that happen just because you hate trump.

You put your hatred of Trump over the good of our country.

Maybe we should print trillions of dollars to infuse the stock market with like Jug Ears did several times with quantitative easing.

Combination of things. Volatility returned to the market--thanks margins and hedge funds, potential trade wars, inflations scaring people, more aggressive FED scaring people, geopolitics, etc. Take your pick. All have had a hand in the market dropping. But it's only been about a 1.4% drop since the start of the year, whereas it could be a lot worse.

If you want the real scoop, I haven’t done any individual investments in a few years and I put some money in the Monday before last.

As I did it, I literally said to my wife “Here comes the correction.”

I guess I should have sent out a warning.

We were still short of full employment AND our inflation target, so if rates matter so much now, they should have even more then.

even when you do the 8 or 10 "ha's" you look desperate

what i said about the conditions and timing of hikes was exactly correct, so you look even dumber and more pitiful than usual

eta: as far as the general thread topic goes, i don't see us losing much more gains unless the tariff thing really blows up in our face
