quote:

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's lavish lifestyle was front-and-center during opening arguments in his fraud trial Tuesday afternoon, as prosecutors said he lied to put his money ahead of the law, while defense attorneys -- and even the presiding judge -- reminded jurors that exorbitant wealth, in itself, is not a crime.

Wealth is a crime now folks.

If pissing away money is a federal offense my wife is in deep trouble. But hey we've paid these boys millions upon millions so if they busted a guy for not paying his taxes and lying on credit apps I guess that's a beginning.

When you dont have a case, attack the person and get the Jury to think irrationally.

He’s charged with financial crimes. Fraud, money laundering, etc.
The opening statement is appropriate

Weird that the first indictment had nothing to do with Russia, almost as if the whole thing is a political witch hunt targeting people associated with the president.

Mueller needs to be publicaly executed, wasting our time and money with this bullshite. Why was this not handed off to a normal prosecutor?

Appropriate perhaps. How embarrassing for Mueller that this is what his investigation yielded

well, he's living like that because of money laundering and bank fraud. Surely you can make the connection.

Well not nothing.

Tad Devine is on the stand right now describing the organization of Manafort's foreign political consulting operation - Manafort, Rick Gates and Konstantin Kilimnik (a Russian with active GRU contacts per Mueller in filings in Manafort's D.C. case).

I hope the defense counters with the lavish expenditure of the investigation into decades old crime by the Mueller Team.
