Because then the GOP members get a shot at him too. He will have to answer why he totally ignored what went on in the SpyGate mess, and that's going to be a tough arse explanation.

All Mueller has to do is obfuscate and say "that's classified". Congressional hearings are massive wastes of time and are nothing more than political campaign opportunities.

I don't think that will cut it.Because he did NOTHING. Not one word. Not one indictment. Not even a mention. He won't be able to get away with that. You can't classify something that never happened.

These people in congress have no teeth at all. He can go in there and tell them all to go frick themselves and nothing will happen to him.
Besides, if this report turns out to be benign, the republicans really have nothing to gain by going after him. It doesn't do them any good.

Every Trump supporter should hope he does.
The Democrats have backed themselves into a corner with their years of "indictments are coming" and "trust Mueller" twin mantras. If they turn on Mueller there's no way they can wash the stink of sour grapes off that action. It will come across to so many as being nothing but cheap retribution for Mueller not creating some charge for them to hang their hats on.
And this will come around just in time for the election.

What could be in the report that didn’t deserve an indictment but should have everyone worried? If it was that bad then where are the indicments? Wasn’t the purpose of the Special Counsel to bring people to justice? Are we talking about actual crimes or thought crimes that can’t actually be proven one way or the other but it makes for one HELL of a talking point on tv?
