Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has asked witnesses in its probe to turn over their personal phones for examination of encrypted messaging apps, CNBC reported Thursday.
Sources told the news outlet that Mueller’s team has been interested in conversations that took place among Trump associates on WhatsApp, Confide, Signal and Dust, which allow users to communicate using encryption.

I'd hire a private company to examine my phones and tell Mueller that there was nothing of note on said phone, but they didn't need to see the phone itself.

For real though, I would definately tell him to get a warrant. No way Id meet with this guy or hand over shite without a court order. He's , unfortunately, lost sight of his job here.

Would love to see the Strzok/Page texts that were through iMessage(encrypted), WhatsApp, or signal. We never will even though there is better reason for it than this.

For example.
Why did Anthony Weiner still have possession of a laptop that had classified emails on them months after that "investigation" began? Any real investigation would have included a grand jury and warrants for ALL electronic devices that possibly could have contained any portion of those emails and then Huma would have been charged with another crime for not turning that laptop over, because there is NO WAY she forgot that they had downloaded some of those emails to that laptop.
That's the point. Mueller is dotting his Is and crossing his Ts in an investigation that doesn't even have an originating crime, compared to the joke of an investigation into Hillary's emails.

There's no witness tampering. This is just a ploy to take advantage of the 'three felonies a day' legal system we live in. They are fishing for things.
I wish Trump would mandate that all of Mueller's team give up their phones for analysis. Then we might see this circus come to a halt.
