MSNBC puts Florida Governor Race "with 99% of the votes in" graphic on air

It’s the kind of goof that the folks who scream about “fake news” likely will scream about. MSNBC this evening briefly put a graphic onscreen that showed “vote counts” for the Florida gubernatorial race — you know, the one being held tomorrow.
“Quick clarification here,” a rather embarrassed All In host Chris Hayes told viewers. “Just want to say, earlier this hour, uh, we showed a graphic of the Florida gubernatorial race. May have caught your eye because our system had inadvertently populated some test numbers. Obviously, we do not yet have any vote totals here, the night before the election. That was a misfire. Don’t worry. I was pretty confused when I saw it up there, to see it myself.”
And, of course, MSNBC had Democrat Andrew Gillum leading the GOP’s Ron DeSantis by six-tenths of a percentage point with 99% of the ballots counted.

How do they even generate such a graphic?

I think they will move unholy hell for this D to win because they want him to run for President.

I am pretty much the anti-conspiracy theorist guy but this certainly causes me to question things. That “explanation” just makes it worse.

De Santis should demand a fake recount.

I think it is their way of saying that 45,664 dead people already voted D in Mejammi. Or it is right before the panhandle is counted...

Testing election graphics the day before is a pretty standard thing for every news station to do. The computer pulls from a wire and inputs the numbers to their appropriate spot on the graphic.
Graphic ops manually enter in numbers the day before to make sure that the graphic populates properly. This as well as the ticker at the bottom of the screen should be tested the day before every election.
Someone just loaded up a test graphic on-air by accident.
ETA: someone definitely got a solid yelling-at the very next commercial break.

Do they even teach PROOFREADING in Mass Comm classes anymore?
WHNT/CBS affiliate was so bad it became a game to watch the news to see how many errors I could point out vs how many the wife could.

This is a terrible attempt at an explanation. A "test" graphic would have "test" info that would make it very clear like all the numbers would be zero'd out, all the same or clearly fillers in some other way.
You have your head in the sand if you think this was "just a test graphic."

Have you worked in a newsroom?

Nope. That was idiots in charge believing what skewed polls were telling them.

let MSNBC run test graphics all day long, how did it make it on air? don't worry normal thinking individuals will only be DVRing MSNBC and CNN to either watch or not later.
no way you can deny that MSNBC and MSM are the democrat campaign headquarters.

That means the Dems don't need to go vote. They already won!!!

Because the idiot running the graphics computer brought up the wrong graphic. Every single person on this earth has made a mistake at some point while on the job. This person's mistake was either pulling up the wrong graphic or just not deleting it out of the system entirely.

I never said whether it was or wasn't....
What do you think MSNBC would accomplish by purposefully putting that graphic up?
