More laws and regulations would clearly have prevented the Boulder shooting

Its inaccurate. The boulder assault weapons ban was recently blocked by a judge and the gun purchased wouldve fit under that bill. Lets be honest tho he wouldve just bought a similar gun and done the same thing

Laws don't generally have much effect on law abiding citizens, in that they are already following most laws. They are never the problem. And criminals, by definition, don't...so you can't "law" your way out of bad people doing bad things. To paraphrase Ian Malcom from Jurassic Park, "Criminals will...eh...find a way."

All you can do is remove the rights of those who will follow your new laws, while ensuring those that do not have even less push back from those that abide by the laws.

Shooter was a felon, wanted, on an FBI watch list, Muslim from Syria.

Gun laws only prevent law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves.

He broke the homicide laws 10 times.

I envy those who posses brevity!

This is the perfect way of pointing out that if the goal is to prevent tragedies and not just punish them after the fact, most laws have no effect on criminals who are intent on breaking laws. At best, they punish after the fact when it basically does not matter to those harmed by the crimnial.

was he a felon prior to the shooting? For what?

And I dont think he was on any watch lists. He was sort of daisy chained to someone who was. Still concerning.

They just forgot about the ban on Radical Muslim terrorists owning guns!

OH wait....in the deranged and demented mind of a liberal that's the only group we can't ban because it would be anti-semetic against the religion of peace.

If you voted Biden, turn in your guns.

More laws and regulations are the tyrants basic tools - because they can selectively enforce them to their advantage.

Make everything illegal == then prosecute those who you don't like for anything at all.

And better yet, the obvious fact that the favored group gets to flaunt their immunity in your face day after day for doing worse than what got you sanctions, finally infuriates you to the point of physical violence - which is what they ultimately want - can gun you down in the street by simply enforcing 'law and order.'

We have thousands of unnecessary laws now/
