Mo Brooks dropped a Twitter bomb on Trump

quote:

This is weird: last time Donald Trump talked about Katie Britt, he said she was unqualified for the Senate. Donald Trump is the only man in American politics who could get conned by Mitch McConnell twice in an Alabama Senate race.

quote:

Let’s just admit it: Trump endorses the wrong people sometimes. He endorsed Mitt Romney, he endorsed John McCain and now he’s endorsed Katie Britt, who his own son, Don Jr. called “Alabama’s Liz Cheney.”

He is right you know

Here’s what I have to say about that, and it’s very profound:

Don’t care.

ETA…..aw shit, these downvotes though. Let me rethink this, I don’t like going against the grain. So we have a fella spurned by Trump, fella then proceeds to lash out at Trump in frustration. Yeah, still don’t care. Not a wuss, don’t care.

Both Mo Brooks and Katie Britt are bums. What a shitty choice between those two

How do you think Richard Shelby's protégé would've voted? You and I both know the answer to that question.

I don't know why Republican politicians have to pro- war. do these idiots not know that being anti-war would make them more popular and get more votes?

Wrong - its not just sometimes. Trump consistently endorses not just the wrong people, but bad people.

Craziest part of all this is Tommy T will be the senior senator from Alabama now.

Incumbents always have the disadvantage of having a vote on record.

I’m 100% against the aid to Ukraine. Cruz (my senator voted for it.) Cruz represents my interest well 90+% of the time. I’ll hold his feet to the fire on it but it’s not like I wish I had voted for Dan Patrick or Beto instead.

I bet this is the one thing you DO know about Mo.

He is a far better candidate than swamp rat Katie. Trump just wants to throw his endorsement to who he thinks is going to win so he can look back and go "wow, see how many people I endorsed win?" I'm not saying his strategy is bad, I'm just saying that's what his strategy IS.

I agree with your assessment. my point is Mo Brooks would have been in a better position right now if he didn't cozy up to the MIC part of the GOPe. after he voted yes on the $40 billion to Ukraine, Britt immediately went on radio and tv to bash him for not caring about the wall, gas prices and baby formula shortages.

Britt was pro sending over arms to Ukraine but as soon as Brooks voted yes on record she immediately flip flopped. Mo Brooks incapacitated his own campaign.

I can still like someone and not agree with everything they do or say.

Yes and no.

Trump is a pragmatist. He’s hard wired to get shite done. That requires the majority in the Senate. There’s no point on any of this if the Senate is controlled by Democrats. Trump picks the candidate most likely to win the seat in the Senate.

In other races, Trump can pick the MAGA candidate because the seats don’t cost as much political leverage if they happen to be lost.

A lot of people don’t seem to be able to wrap their heads around this concept very well.

I don’t think that’s what his strategy is. He’s endorsed long shots like the Vance guy in Ohio and went with Dr. Oz and stuck with him despite all kinds of naysaying and even declarations of good riddance to Trump for that endorsement. So it’s not accurate to say he’s simply trying to pick front runners and that’s all there is to the “formula”. Folks are reaching so very far to try to latch on to their signature criticism of Trump, as if there were shameful to fail to have something at the ready. Bottom line is Trump’s not out to appease peoples’ list of principles…..he’s simply wants to get himself back in the position to fix what needs fixin, and making the best effort to set the stage so that in the event he does (1) choose to run and (2) wins, he’ll have as many allies as possible to call upon when the time comes. It’s that simple. (obligatory IMO).

Surely y’all are smarter than this. Who here is perfect? It’s crickets. They want people to turn on Trump because they are scared.

I’m not trusting any of them but if I have to put my money on one person it’s Trump at this point. I’d actually prefer DeSantis but it’s unlikely he’s running against Trump.
