Mitch continues to take his victory lap book tour...

quote:

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu knocked President Donald Trump Thursday, saying racists feel “much more emboldened” since Trump took office last year.

According to a report from CBS News, Landrieu insisted that “not everybody that voted for Donald Trump is a racist.”

"We're better in this country when we're together," he told reporters Thursday at a Bloomberg News breakfast. "Diversity is a strength, it's not a weakness. You come to the table of democracy as equals and that will take us in a much better direction on the spectrum of what your political philosophy might be."

CBS News reports that Landrieu sidestepped a question about mayors running for president in 2020. Landrieu said that he doesn't intend to be a candidate, but implied that he could change his mind. Landrieu has been touted as a potential Democratic candidate for president and future challenger to Trump.

Please please let this dickhead run in 2020.

Funny they still can't say how Trump is a racist. I mean, I feel emboldened because I kept that bitch from the White House

So, you're saying Trump's rhetoric didn't also "embolden" white supremacists?

He's right, I've seen a notable increase in those who hate white people the past few years.

I agree with Mitch. I hear pro-Trump folks openly bitch about Mexicans at work. These two were never like that in the past. Had both fired. MAGA!

Can only speak for VA, but in some places and in some respects, he's absolutely right. My job takes me to some rural parts of the state all the time (and several times a year), and I've been in my job the last decade.

The amount of confederate flags that you saw before Nov 2016 compared to how many you see afterwards (in the same towns) has exploded in some counties. Big time difference, I've spoken with locals about it too, it's not even a secret. It's true here in Richmond too, where I actually live. This place was always the formal capital of the confederacy, not just since Nov. 2016.

I imagine a lot of people on this board have seen a similar effect in other parts of the country as well. I also question what happened in Charlottesville, would that have happened anyway if HRC had won? Hard to say but certainly not a given.

He is absolutely right. The left and their soft bigotry of low expectations has never been more prevalent.

Racists = any nonliberal.

Liberals , for over 8 years, got used to being the only voice that mattered. Their sanctimonious bullshite was screamed from coast to coast. They thought for sure that the nonliberals lost the will to fight back.

Then Trump won.

Oh thank you benevolent White man for taking pity on us poor Mexicans. Had you not had those two meanies fired, I'm not sure what we would have done.
