Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell did his best imitation of an impervious turtle and kept that prolonged stance from last year when Justice Scalia succumbed, thru the M. Garland/Obama Caper, and then down to the very wire of the Gorsuch nuclear option vote and then Gorsuch's Senate approval vote which brought in 3 democrats from Schumer's little flock as well as the entire GOP Senate population minus one (who was recovering from surgery and not present for the vote). Even the VP was present, lest his vote be needed to break an unforeseen tie.

Mitch took heat, scorching heat, from the Left, the Dems, the MSM, a lot of Republicans and Conservatives and Trump supporters. But his turtle shell was impervious and he shepherded the vote home and Justice Gorsuch is now on the SCOTUS officially.

Thanks Mitch! You done good, sir! Kentucky has another son to be proud of. And the Constitution remains in competent SCOTUS hands.

He did a really ballsy thing - I am shocked and impressed. Really more stunning to me than Trumps victory in some respects.

Now if he can undo all the damage he has done prior to him actually doing his job for once…

That was impressive. I'm glad he finally did what he should have been doing all along.

Would you have the same praise if he wasn't a Republican? Just curious.

Generally, total obstruction on Garland is seen as a bad thing. Additionally, those that criticized Reid's changing of the rules seem to be applauding this one?

I have no problem if people say they just like the result without principles or regard for hypocritical actions, but I would at least like to get that cleared up.

If it resulted in gerting a judge who isn't completely unfit for the position (ginsberg, etc) yes.

It would be great if you could click on the up/down votes and it would list the names who voted one way or the other!
