Mississippi Senate Race

I have a weird feeling that even though Trump will win Mississippi handily, (D) Mike Espy is going to best Cindy Hyde Smith in the Senate Race. He has spent millions and millions selling himself as a moderate and her as a failure. He’s far from moderate, but she is a very weak senator.

They both suck but I’d be really surprised if espy wins. I imagine CHS will win with like ~53% of the vote

The dems tell me Mississippi senate race is in play for them which means it almost definitely is not.

The racial breakdowns in MS alone tell me the only way Espy wins is if he gets some crossover votes and an insane amount of black turnout.

Yeah, think about it. Trump will will MS handily. How many of those Trump voters do you think are going to vote democrat in the Senate race? I can't see much of that kind of ballot splitting. It is like Doug Jones in AL. He is spending insane amounts of money, but I just can't see it getting him over 50% when Trump is likely to win by 20%.

If she does win it will be Trump and Trump only that gets her there. She is terrible. Mississippi’s entire group has been extremely disappointing, it she is the worst excluding Bennie Thompson of course.

Happy to report from Alabama that Doug Jones will likely get about 8 votes, including his family. Tuberville is all but in. Jones is down to campaigning on Tuberville's record as a football coach. This should have been called a week ago.

Espy reminded voters who he is with that stupid commercial claiming that when he was in school he was harassed daily, sprayed by teachers with fire extinguishers and chased into the street.

Mike is a moderate by today's standards. We could do a lot worse for a D senator if it were to happen. But I don't see CHS losing.
