--According to Lindsey there are ads running in the Middle East which explain that if you can get to Guatemala, for about $30k you can be set up with a smuggler to get you onto US soil where you can instantly claim asylum.

--Asylum claimers usually have a 3 year wait before their hearing, most of these people never show up for their hearing.

--Lindsey mentioned that when he went to the border there were 985 people in detention at that particular place. Only 8 were from Mexico. People from 62 different countries (including Iran and Syria) have been caught trying to get into the US through the southern border.

--Willing to work on DACA and Central American investment and give some concessions but the Democrats have to work with the GOP on border control.

--Lindsey owns an AR15, shoots it on occasion.

--What he's working on in reference to Red Flag legislation:
----Only the police could petition a judge. Family members nor neighbors can petition a judge so as to limit family/neighbor disputes from coming into play.
----Only a judge can make a decision on a Red Flag issue.
----The cops have to prove to the judge that there is more likely than not an imminent threat of death or bodily harm.
----A hearing is set 7 days later where the government has to prove to a judge that there is clear and convincing evidence that the person in question is a danger to themselves and/or others.
----There is a cause of action for the gun owner to sue people who accuse them falsely. (I consider this important)

---Believes the Horowitz report ("coming out in weeks, not days") will be "ugly and damning" regarding the Dept of Justice handling of the Russian probe.

---Wants to declassify as much as possible.

---Believes the warrant application to FISA was a fraud on the court.

---Wants Papa D transcripts released.

---Is patient because he wants to do it right.

---Wants Papa D to testify before his committee once the Horowitz report is out.

---Wonders at the role the CIA played in Muh Russians as well as who in the Obama admin knew about the counter intel investigation into the Trump campaign.

---Dodged on whether or not he would have Brennan come before his committee ("we'll see").

---Gave a litany on China's bullshittery and wants the President to continue holding China's feet to the fire.

---Thinks we should give vocal support to the protesters in Hong Kong and using that as a negotiation tool.

$30k for a smuggler to get you across the border?

It took my wife (no pics) about $700 in fees and less than a year wait to get her residency in the United States.

I would rather not do this at all but if we do,

this is key. False accusers need to be bankrupted.

The way he stated it I think that included travel from the ME as well.

Agreed. That is exactly why I highlighted it. If something like this passes it should only do so with a very stiff penalty for false claims.

If I was single and banging a gal a cop was interested in, he got jealous and was able to gin up false charges to take my firearms, I want to be able to sue him and the police department into the fricking Stone Age.

It don’t cost $30k to get an airline ticket to the United States.

The problem with these immigrants is that very few of them have anything to offer the United States. How many ditch diggers and construction workers do we need? They say the want to come here for a better life; why not become proactive and make their own shithole country better? I don’t equate the immigrants of the 18th/19th/early 20th century with those today. They didn’t have a “safety net” when they got here. They worked to succeed or else they starved. They wanted to be Americans.

Gun owners need to face it. There WILL be some sort of red flag legislation in the near future. We're not going to like whatever they propose but it is what it is.

However, LE has to be held accountable when concerns are raised and NOTHING is done and people die. 4 of the last "mass shooters" were brought to the attention of LE and not jack shite was done.

I'm not a fan of the red flag deal but Graham's proposal seems to be about the best that I've heard so far.

Lindsey’s take on GVPOs sounds a lot like something I read here on the PoliBoard
quote:

they are still too easy to obtain, and I would tweak the procedures somewhat.

I would require that all complaining witnesses appear at the first hearing (no Orders based upon affidavits or hearsay), so the judge can assess credibility, and I would preclude the State from presenting ANY evidence at the second hearing which was not presented at the first. “Clear and convincing” should be the evidenciary standard at the first hearing.

I would require that the second hearing take pace in 3-7 days (not 14), and I would appoint counsel for the Respondent. I would give the Respondent and counsel “open file” access to EVERYTHING in the prosecutor’s file, and require that copies be delivered along with service of the Order. (including a recording or an electronic transcript of the first ihearing). I would require the State to have all complaining witnesses present at the second hearing and mandate a ruling against the State if the prosecutor fails to do so.

I would award costs and fees to any prevailing Respondent, for which BOTH the State an complaining witness would be jointly and severally responsible. I would require regular re-hearings (e.g every 6 months), at which the burden of proof word CONTINUE to lie with the State to establish that the respondent CONTINUES to constitute a risk.

That would be a good start

Not for people travelling legally. Also, that high a price tag for people without money will probably mean a form of indentured servitude (ie: someone with money pays their way and then they become an operative for that person or group once they get into the US).

As I've said many times, hunger is a powerful motivator. Paying people to not work and/or be unemployable (which is essentially what our social safety net has become) is not the way to cure the poverty issue.

That Comey was recommended for criminal charges was not careful with the truth and needs sensitivity training and it will never happen again.

(Even if it is damning; the MSM won't report anything unless someone is raided at dawn and arrested by gun point.)

This. The immigrants who do it the right way will gladly tell you they are American.

it needs to specify that the person falsely accused gets whatever assets are awarded before any creditors.

Exactly. Wow. Im no expert in the area, but Im going to assume that there continues to be a strong urge to strike a blow against the U.S. by Islamic extremists, especially on our turf, and what better way is there for a group to enter the U.S. completely undetected. That 30k is no issue for them. And if they would be trained well enough and disciplined enough in terms of low profile there's no tracking them by FBI etc because we simply don't know they're here.

Yea but these paying 30k likely wouldn’t get approved for legal residency. They are bad people with ill intentions

"seeking asylum" is the biggest scam ever. The entire asylum program needs to be shut down at once
