My God, what a bunch of pussies this country has become, bashing the team for attending a MAGA rally. Really surprised they haven't been bashed for attending the NASCAR race yesterday too.

The team and this kid (#30, Craig) achieved immortality that day. THIRTY-SIX (36) saves against thirty-nine (39) shots on goal, many of them using the tip of the stick or the laces on his equipment.
If you didn't watch this game or go through that Olympic cycle, I cannot adequately describe in words what happened. Our kids outskated the Soviet pros - the physical play was about even, but our kids skated faster and shot far more accurately.
The Soviets tried to blame their coaching and goaltending, but it was a team effort by Team USA to overcome what was, in all likelihood, the best hockey team ever assembled (possibly excepting the 1980s Edmonton Oilers).
(ETA: My point is - when you accomplish something like this, it is liberating in that you can not GAF what Twitter says if you go to a Trump rally. frick 'em.
