There is a HUGE opportunity for a smart black person to create a NRA like organization promoting arming black people. White folks flock to the NRA to protect their right to defend themselves, not only against criminals but also against a tyrannical government. All Americans should insist on better from those who we ask to protect and SERVE...and we should also see to it that they have the tools they need and the support they need to do so safely and with confidence that they aren't out there on their own with only their brothers in uniform...not their leadership even....having their back.
This is truly a huge problem that impacts us all regardless of race. No one should be on a police force who would do something like this even if it is 'warranted" because we are supposed to be a civilized society....one which guarantees a citizen, regardless of race, due process. Passing a counterfeit $20 bill does not warrant wrestling someone in the street, let alone kneeling on their neck until they die. The only race that matters is that both the cop and the dead person is a human being.

With the exception of very small communities no mayor has that kind of control because it is damned difficult to find someone willing to work as a LEO for the kind of money they pay and the bullshite we ask them to put up with and do. The mayor is only a symptom of the problem....the voters are the problem. They accept the situation as it is because they don't want to foot the bill to make certain cops have the tools they need and provide the type of protection and service that cops are supposed to provide.
