They're not protesting "tourists" per se, more so the digital nomads who have been living there.
The same thing has been happening with guys from London. It's really expensive to live there so some people who can work online move to cheaper areas with better weather around the Mediterranean.

The word is often misused, but THIS is fricking irony.

Americans can also vacation places where people don’t turn their nose at the cash
I recommend red states right here in the good old USA. We have the most beautiful lands on earth.

Dude, Mexico City is an awesome city! I was expecting a sh*thole when I visited. Anything but! It's beautiful. It's in a huge valley surrounded by mountains and 2 super-tall volcanoes. The Paseo de la Reforma area is so nice. Chapultepec Park and Castle are incredible. I prefer Mexico City to any city in the US. It has a European vibe to it. And it's a LOT cheaper than NYC. I've been5 times and saw something new every time.

Are really that many Americans going to Mexico City on vacation? I get Italy, Portugal and Spain, even Cozumel, but Mexico City?
I spent a long weekend there and loved it. I know several people who have gone and enjoyed it. Walking around it felt safer in the areas you would go than many American cities. I would consider living there for quality of life at lower COL, but it isnt cheap anymore.

Mexico belongs to the Mexicans. I have no problem with this, so GTFO of the US and take your anchor brownies with you.

It seems a movement bent on helping Americans boot illegals out the door.
I applaud it thusly.

Planned and paid for by the Mexican government as retribution for what is happening to the illegals here. Do you really think the young are smart enough and have the fortitude to protest in large numbers without being paid? Same as here, if the protesters aren't paid there is no protest.

Sooo...they are cool with Americans doing the same thing?

Trump now has the money to get rid of illegals. I would hope he follows thru with it.

Cdmx is great. Spent a week there about 8 years ago. Had an amazing time and polanco area is cleaner and safer than any American city.

Hispanics move in = diversity is our strength
Whites move in = colonialism.
Got it.

It's hard to describe how big Mexico City is. When flying in you start your descent at the edge of the city and it just keeps going and going and going until you land. It's MASSIVE.
Great food scene, great architecture.
It can be smoggy as frick though because it's sunk down between mountains. Diesel smells are pretty prevalent.

You are spot on. It amazes me how many people think these protest are organic. They are all being paid.

Honestly it’s their country. They can determine whatever immigration laws they want. It’s not our business.

I meant to type the same thing! I felt A THOUSAND TIMES safer in Mexico City than I've felt in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, just about any American city (I've always felt very safe in Nashville).
La Condesa is just absolutely beautiful. And Polanco and LaZona Rosa. I saw very few homeless people. Coyoacan was an amazing part of the city too. I can't rave about that city enough. Yes, parts of Mexico are very dangerous. Mexico City isn't one of them.
