Does anyone have a link or cite to the statute under which she is being charged? All the articles I have seen just say “child homicide” but I do not see anywhere that this is distinct crime from regular “homicide.”

As it should be. I watched a Dr.crush the fallopian tubes of a meth mom who had just delivered her second stillborn after a drug induced abruption. He looked at us all in the eyes one at a time and said nothing.
But, his eyes were furious and said keep your mouth shut. We all said nothing. She would not be doing that to another baby.

That is absolutely horrible and touches close to home with me. The bio Mom of our two foster kids used meth for the first five months of her latest pregnancy prior to getting locked up again. She had her baby last week and it is obvious the child is going to have life long issues. Right now the newborn is with the Mom's brother but he can only take care of her for a couple of months and now the state is trying to pressure us into taking on the newborn, which we can't and won't. I just don't understand how any Mom could choose to use meth while pregnant.
