So today at work, this mom picked up her kids medicines today that totaled over 500 dollars and paid zero... while wearing an Apple Watch...
I honestly don't care if folks like this' Medicaid gets cut if they can afford such a luxury they should be able to afford their medications instead of making the taxpayers pay for their stuff.

How do you know what it totaled to, I thought the little screen just says what they owe (in this case zero)? I agree that Medicaid and other "safety nets" are abused. I don't really believe your story though.

They might have stolen the watch.

He said at work. I assume that means a pharmacy, so he knows the sticker price.

I see this sort of nonsense everyday, but given how the topic has come up in the political world recently, this set me off .

There is way to much fraud in this system especially here in MS where 1 in 4 is on Medicaid.

Please stop embarrassing Monroe by posting on this board. My old hometown is already getting bad enough without you making it look worse.

C'mon.

We frequently see people swipe a Louisiana Purchase card and then go load their free groceries into a late model, nice vehicle.

I go into section 8 housing all the time. Don't try and sell people on this horseshite that people on various forms of public assistance live like paupers.

They don't. They have all the nice things that middle class people have, they are just subsidized.

It is like that picture that was in the newspaper of a kid taking a picture of Michelle Obama working at a homeless kitchen. The kid was taking the picture with an iPhone. Can't afford to eat, but can afford an iPhone and monthly payments? Only in America!

Look. If I'm on Medicaid ... and somebody wants to buy me some thing, I would rather them give me the equivalent in money or buy me groceries.

Please.
However - it could have been fake. ?

Everyday I ride past this old shack of a house. It is in horrible condition. Horrible. Everyday for the past couple years - there's been a humvee parked in the driveway - I don't know what to think of that.

If I was living in that kind of situation .... no way would I be driving and gassing up a humvee.

I would sell it and use that money to help me get ahead a little.

Maybe she has a kid with down syndrome or cystic fibrosis.

Medicaid covers medically complex kids whose care runs hundred of a thousands of dollars a year with no income stipulation.

You sound like an idiot who has no clue what is going on with that mom.

Of the 2 of us, who do you think is more qualified to speak of what conditions child does or doesn't have? You or her pharmacist ?

This problem is very systemic and doesn't just apply to adults with children either.
