First, this is an article from Breitbart. We're dealing with a source that is undeniably right wing, generally pro-Trump, and certainly not socialist or communist. If you're making that accusation, you're just clowning yourself.

Now, lets look at the material itself.

"“We think Italy may be the most comparable area to the United States at this point,” Vice President Mike Pence told reporters on Wednesday. As Italy’s coronavirus death toll continues to grow many are asking: Why did the virus that originated in Wuhan, China, strike Italy so hard? And why do our leaders think we may become like Italy?"

[Are y'all going to hate on Pence now?]

"When the coronavirus was initially discovered in Italy, many of the nation’s policymakers were skeptical, despite being warned that an epidemic was looming.

“How many people can’t go to work now because of an old man who’s 88 years old, who might have died of the flu?” proclaimed Chamber of Deputies member Vittorio Sgarbi in front of the Italian Parliament in late February, before repeatedly shouting, “This is fiction!”"

[does any of this sound remotely familiar?]

"The Italian government began implementing partial solutions by quarantining specific areas"

[how about this?]

"This move, however, had backfired, as it sparked a mass exodus among Italians native to the south who were temporarily living up north."

New Yorkers Fleeing to Florida To avoid Coronavirus

[or this?]

"Days later, on March 9, the Italian government then applied the same lockdown to the entire country. But some might argue that at that point, it was too late. The damage had already been done.

The Italian government should have locked down the entire nation, rather than initially implement partial solutions, which only facilitated the further spread of the disease throughout Italy."

[...and the inevitable conclusion.]

"Among those occupying ICU beds, 12 percent are between the ages of 19 and 50, about 52 percent are between the ages of 51 and 70, and the remainder are over 70. Therefore, roughly 64 percent of coronavirus patients are reportedly under the age of 70.

And the average age of coronavirus patients keeps dropping, as one Italian nurse noted, “the average age has dropped, around 55, 60 years old — 30-year-old males also come in on an oxygen crisis,” reported Il Giornale."

[but it's the flu, brah!]

"The hospital system in northern Italy is one the finest in the country and in Europe"

[but our superior medical system will save us!]

"Thus, we should examine other countries, and not disregard their hardships — because if we don’t prepare and the virus hits us hard, then the added insult to injury will be that we should have known better."

[Yep.]

I work for a company based out of Reggio Emilia, Italy and I will tell you my coworkers are scared to death and have been warning us for weeks not to take this lightly.

It’s all fun and games until you or your own family ends up in the hospital or the in a body bag.

Nope, it’s not the flu. The flu doesn’t discriminate against young healthy people. We’ve had 150 pediatric flu deaths this season in the United States alone.
Muh corona! Save the older unhealthy sick peoples already dying of heart disease and cancer!!!

The average fricking age of a male dying of this in Italy is 79 years old, the life expectancy of a Italian male is 80.

What you are spreading is bullshite.

Hindsight is 2020...but whatever allows you to jerk off.

[...and the inevitable conclusion.]

"Among those occupying ICU beds, 12 percent are between the ages of 19 and 50 (a bullshite age range. So if there is one 19 year old, and the rest are over 45, I would argue that it invalidates the data), about 52 percent are between the ages of 51 and 70, and the remainder are over 70. Therefore, roughly 64 percent of coronavirus patients are reportedly under the age of 70.

What percentage were above the age of 45 though? Did they have severe asthma? Diabetes? Etc.

And the average age of coronavirus patients keeps dropping, as one Italian nurse noted, “the average age has dropped, around 55, 60 years old

So not an average, but a data range given by one nurse...yeah, that is legit.

— 30-year-old males also come in on an oxygen crisis,” reported Il Giornale."

This has never happened before? How many "30 year old males?" One? Two?
Were they hypochondriacs?
Were these panic attacks?
Were they admitted? Did they actually have CV?

The hospital system in northern Italy is one the finest in the country and in Europe"

[but our superior medical system will save us!

[b]We do have a better system that is not only better staffed from a quantity standpoint, but better equipped as well. To argue otherwise shows your bias towards a false narrative.

"Thus, we should examine other countries, and not disregard their hardships — because if we don’t prepare and the virus hits us hard, then the added insult to injury will be that we should have known better."

[Yep.]

Right, the USA is simply a larger Italy.

You should be embarassed of posting this drivel...no matter who wrote it.

I've had family members in both Northern Italy(Milan) and Louisiana hospitals. They will pick the Louisiana ones Everytime. Said Italy was like being in 1940- 50's US.

When is the retards anonymous meeting adjourning so we can get back to posting sanity?

Italians, by and large, are unhealthy as shite... over 25% of the population smokes, air quality is shite, and their population density is twice what ours is...

Did I mention the median age of Italians is TEN YEARS ABOVE THE US?
