A reconciliation bill does not require 60 votes, only a majority vote which they have with Manchin and Synema, plus Kamala. They probably count on at least 3 GOP votes too, Romney, Murkowski and Collins. There may be more GOP, but those 3 will definitely help out the Dems. The really bad news on this is that it will give a huge boost to the Dems in the midterms. Probably guarantees the Senate stays Democrat with a couple of pickups, PA and GA. The House will be a dogfight. If the GOP has any sense at all, they should run like they’re behind and quit talking about what they will do once they win.

Thanks. I forgot it was reconciliation.

How much of a boost for dems election-wise? Why? The economy will still be miserable and the effects of those will not yet be felt, the good or bad.

124 Billion to the IRS is the biggest threat to the middle class we may have ever seen. This will be used to hire a massive amount of auditors who have no idea what they're doing. They will demand repayment or shut you down. And there will be a very specific method of choosing who gets audited. Red states are fricked.

They will go after small businesses that took PPP money and loans, and look for ANY discrepancies they can find. Im telling you, everyone that took them had some form of discrepancy. They cannot stand that so many businesses used them like they were supposed to and actually made it through their shutdowns.

They really want to shut down prosperity for anyone who isn't on board with the Plan. We are fricked.

Manchin got bought off. Guess he had a price, and the Democrat leadership finally met it.

I do wonder about this bit from a pro-fossil fuel outlet, though I’m 100% certain the negatives of this legislation will outweighs any positives Manchin might have negotiated into it.

quote:

Other critics of the bill have pointed out that it locks in fossil fuel use by streamlining the permitting process for natural gas pipelines, along with subsidies for “dirty” hydrogen and carbon capture.

So it appears the enviro-commies don’t like it because of that part, but those folks are outright moonbats.

Would like to know the details. Seems way less than the 5T it was originally going to cost

The details are simple. We are all told to bend over until the bill can be read. (or, "until moral improves")

So much for the savior Manchin

Manchin and Sinema saved us from a $2 trillion bill. I'll be forever grateful.
