I’ve never seen a political gambit fail so badly. In addition to showing middle of the road, working class Americans that they care more about illegal immigrants than American citizens, they’ve completely demoralized and angered the far left base that controls their party by caving so badly. Other than the tax bill, this may be Trump’s biggest Political victory so far.

The OP answers your question:

Yep. Dems gave an ultimatum. Trump called their bluff. Then the Dems flinched. Ballgame is over.

Shumer made a massive unforced error. Had Trump and the GOP done that you'd be boasting too.

if this really is considered a victory at this point...

god damn. you people are in serious trouble, things are much worse than i even hoped for.

The brand new ballgame starts over again in 3 weeks and the score is 0-0.

For you, that was a pretty inane response.

A clean extension is all the Repubs wanted on Friday. They get it 3 days later. Why shut it down then? How is that delusional?

I'm sure this will factor into future elections. You would hope anyway.

What exactly did they win? It all starts over again in 3 weeks.

You couldn't have come up with that dumb a reason on your own.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. Best case scenario for the dems is it's the same game -- and I'm not getting how anything "good" for them can come out of that.

What is it you think would be "new" and better for them?
