Watched a lady ring up 3 carts and $470 on EBT today. Meanwhile i try to keep my young family on a food budget and most often forego shrimp, simply lemonade and caramel almond cream pie.

Less than 1% minorities. However they have a ton of poor whites. It’s the welfare go to state in New England.

The only thing I question, both federal, and the various states, are the "childless" clauses. Seems like an incentive to have a child, certainly if you are illegal, you get benes and get to stay cause you know how we hate to see those crying kids when we separate them from their, uh mommas/coyotes/whatever.

Didn’t Maine reduce welfare spend by some significant percentage by simply requiring recipients to physically travel and pick up their EBT cards?
Their theory was not that the people were fake, but that these people were actually gainfully employed but by cash businesses. The workers couldn’t get off work so they couldn’t get ebt, hence halting abuse
