MAGA! Airbus and Bombardier to build plants in ALABAMA after Commerce Dept. TARIFF threat

All hail GEOTUS Trump!
"Bombardier stock jumped as much as 26 per cent in Toronto on Tuesday, the first trading window since news Monday evening that the company had signed a partnership with rival Airbus to make and market its C Series jets. The unexpected deal came after U.S. plane maker Boeing unexpectedly won a ruling that slapped duties of more than 300 per cent on all C Series sold in the U.S. Boeing had complained about Canadian subsidies it deemed unfair. Bombardier's deal with Airbus is designed to get around those subsidies by moving some of the production of the C Series to the United States. That would allow the company to circumvent import duties, since the planes would no longer qualify as imported products.
Trump effect?
And the deal could be a lesson to Canadian businesses in other fields to start taking U.S. bluster about trade policy seriously. U.S. President Donald Trump "wanted to force companies that sell into the U.S. to produce there, and that's exactly what's going to happen," Hejazi said. "Everyone has to give Donald Trump a victory — as difficult as that may be — but this is exactly what he wanted. "I think this gives Donald Trump and those people that adhere to his position a lot more ammunition to be tough when it comes to the NAFTA renegotiations," he said.

New jobs in ALABAMA. Trumps biggest supporter in election? Senator Jeff Sessions from ALABAMA. Blatant political payoff. Trump has gone too far this time. No way he survives this investigation.

We finally throw Mary out, and then put JBE in.

This won't go over well. They hate seeing a person of color succeed.

Because of corruption. No decent company wants to be shaken down.

Wasn't the Airbus/Mobile Alabama deal announced in 2010?
Posted on 10/17/17 at 9:59 pm to matthew25
Airbus has been building A320/A321 there for a few years.
This new deal with Canadian Bombardier has Airbus taking a 50.01% stake in the CSeries aircraft line. They will open a new production line for the CSeries in Mobile. So no tariffs. Should be noted that Airbus paid ZERO for that stake. Bombardier was taking huge losses on the CSeries program but Airbus sees potential thanks to the operating economics and early success in service.
Airbus will use the CS100 (108 to 133 seats) and CS300 (130 to 160 seats) to compliment its current product offering.
A319 (128 seats)
A320 (150 seats)
A321 (214 seats)

There was an Airbus/Mobile deal that involved Northrup Grumman to build refueling tankers in Mobile a few years back but Boeing got that bid killed I believe. That may be what you're thinking of?
