A TD thread earlier this week was titled "Sometimes you've got to say no."
The OP stated why he had respectfully declined a request for funds from from LSU and described his reasoning behind an alternate school donation. It inspired 671 up votes and seven pages of posts overwhelmingly in agreement.
TD post begun Sept 15

Maybe the chief financial officer really does miss Iowa winters. Or maybe he is the first to recognize the Get Woke Go Broke handwriting on the wall?

LSU Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Dan Layzell is leaving for Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, where he has accepted a position as vice president, COO and CFO.
Cornell—a private, liberal arts college with just 1,020 students—announced his hiring on its website late Thursday, saying that after working for more than six years at a university system with eight campuses and almost 50,000 students, Layzell “realized he missed the Midwest and the small college setting.”

Heard that 63% of season ticket holders let their tickets go. LSU had better be damn glad they have Covid as a fall back excuse for what is a blatant statement from fans that the Racist/Marxist insurrection bs of BLM, is a poison pill for sports. They must think we are stupid, or so hooked on sports that we'd sell our Nation and Freedom down the river.
Geez. Just think of the spirit on 9-11...and in just 20 years...this.

If that post somehow inspired change to something at LSU, then great. LSU has major problems connecting with its targeted donors.

It's been demonstrated that posts on TD have influence, even on the national stage.

Absolutely no way that's truth. Not 'let them go' in the sense that they are no longer registered to them. 63% likely passed them on the year, but not let them go permanently. No f'n way.

Sounds like a lot better job honestly. A Ivey league with 1k students. That’s like the big leagues for the admin/exec jobs.

I spoke with a TAF official last week who called to confirm that I was requesting a refund. He said about 65% were not renewing for this year which I took as deferring, not cancelling. Each ticket will require a $100 deposit for next year from the refund to be received.

That’s not the Cornell you’re thinking of, bud. That Cornell is in Ithaca, NY.

A cfo position would have had to be publicly advertised and a CFO of any higher ed job will have a months long getting as due diligence.
Sounds like the LSU is leaving a sinking ship.
Louisiana funding for its universities for the next decade will be a mess.
