WASHINGTON — The first African American four-star general in Marine Corps history, Gen. Michael E. Langley, credited his father with telling him to “aim high” and predicted that his promotion on Saturday would have an impact on younger people.

Langley was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and grew up at military bases as his father served in the Air Force. A graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marines in 1985.

“My daddy told me to aim high, so I aimed as high as I could and found the few and the proud,” Langley said during a ceremony at Marine Corps Barracks Washington attended by his father and other family members.

So the opposite of what a liberal would tell him.

He looks like a mean sumbitch.

I wonder if he will be a political hack like 99% of generals are. For many, once they become a Colonel, they cease being a soldier and become a politician because they're gunning for those stars.

A man’s worth is not determined by the color of his skin.

But good luck getting the left to recognize that.

I don’t give a frick what color he is if he’s the best qualified for the job. Only leftists fixate on color.

This should simply read: "Louisiana native becomes 4-star general in the Marine Corps."

There are no warriors left O-6 and above. This guy is likely a political hack

Obama purged the military of warriors.

Being just African American no longer cuts it to be news worthy now if he announces he is also Trans then we will be seeing documentary's on how brave he/she is.

Well, we probably shouldn't use the word 'native.' It might offend some folks.

I hope he is better than Lloyd Austin as Sec. of Defense who is an Auburn grad.
