i was told i was fearmongering and "being emotional" over a week ago pointing out the acute nature of the geography

Might want to re-phrase that one

Quick google search says LA has 4.66 million people

So 0.127% of LA has been tested

I was thinking the same thing. More like 20% of those tested in LA came back positive.

Obviously wrong. Is this meant to say that 20% of those who have been tested have tested positive?

Shouldn't this be expanded further to read:

-20% of people with sever enough symptoms to be considered becoming a critical case allowed to take the test have tested positive?

People with symptoms that are not in risk of becoming a critical case are still being denied.

The "confirmed positive" numbers are 5 to 7 days old as it takes that long for the test results to come back, but the death numbers are current to today because the testing turnaround for confirming whether someone is dead is much more rapid.

Louisiana government is not reporting that information. I would have to rely on new organizations to get that data.

The death rate last night was 34, so it has not gone up at 9:30 am announcement? If correct, that is good news.

LDH has stopped updating twice a day. Once a day at high noon.

And the LDH site does list age ranges by decade for confirmed cases and death.

Did you see how New York officials blew off the Corona virus and encouraged folks to attend parades and events celebrating the Chinese New Year? Tucker Carlson had bits about this last night on his show alleging fear over this was racist and racially motivated.

72 is the average age of death.

One thing for sure, after this, nursing homes are gonna take a hit AND become heavily regulated by the state.

Do we have any idea how many COVID patients are in the hospital?

anc has a post that reflects the hospitalizations in some states NOT being close to what was expected.
