Per NYT

quote:

Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin became the first Republican to oppose both the House and Senate tax plans, posing a new obstacle to party leaders eager to overhaul the tax code

Susan Collins , Bob Corker and John McCain will most likely vote NO

Of course Johnson's not going to vote for it.

I'm disappointed it wasn't McCain or Collins or Murkowski.

It's hard to close a deal when the swamp is fighting him

Eh, no big deal.

Would rather keep tax reform as a carrot until next year, or the year after, TBH.

Exactly as I predicted. McCain will attention-whore another no and then they will remove the Ocare repeal and then they will all play act a week or so and get the same No's. And then Trump will write an E.O. Frick all of them.

Sad question but it must be asked: how long does McCain have?

This has been the case all along. Senate is a joke.

then they should be voting for this tax bill

we will pick up 4 - 9 seats in the senate ext year

I just hope we are able to "primary" a few belligerent idiots and that McCain's medical condition forces him to retire

Of course it won't pass!

The Republican Party is not going to allow Trump the Outsider Reformist to have a legislative victory.

That bill hasn't a snowball's chance in hell. The GOP wants Trump OUT.

I would love it if the GOP got smart and amended the bill to make the taxes the same as Ronald Reagan's tax bill in 1986, or whenever. Make it the exact same. That gave us the best economy ever. Do it again.
