I love the headline out here that reads...
"California is too communist for Red China".
Get ready to begin losing your bacon & eggs breakfast...Smithfield Foods of Smithfield, Virginia, is the nation's largest producer of pork products.
Congratulations, California...you're now too communist for the Communists!

I did not know China owned them. That's a bummer.

I have to believe that, at some point, the people will have had enough and revolt.

Hate to disappoint you, but the frog has been cooked.

Such a shame this Virginia company sold out to the Chinese.

People are dumb and don't think very far in the future. They will react if they go hungry though.

The plant in Vernon, CA is their Farmer John plant. Smithfield bought Farmer John and Saag's Meats about a decade ago. Back in 2019 they shut down the Saag's plant in San Leandro, CA. Now it's time to shut down the Farmer John plant. It's no secret they find the cost of doing business in CA outrageous. When they purchased these companies they informed all employees that CA plant closures will be coming. Production line workers were offered a severance pkg of $50 for every year worked.

If China wanted to they could completely cripple this country without firing a single bullet.
